  They are trying to patch the dam that is breaking. If they can negate this they can set precedent against these sort of suits. They have to make it about the 1st amendment so they can use it nation wide. They are the lowest form of pond scum.

  Ok you can start hating me now. Did she speak with those women personally or were they people on a forum that she never met in person? We all know that every story on a forum is accurate. Can one congregation have all that drama? If so it would be so sad. Though I agree with her premise, the info is one sided and I think people should have the chance to defend themselves. Hope it motivates someone to think twice, but I'm not buying every word as from a reliable source.

  when you look at the society's literature, it is pretty comical to see how important they believed they were.

  it seems to be not as bad under the new regime but they certainly believe they are a special people.

  Trumpets are conventions and horses are either literature or people. I truly found it amazing. Wasn't it just last week it was like that? Changed fast when the new GB took over. It was the drumming of 1919 into ever story in Revelation that made me throw up in my mouth often. Always went forward, what a dupe.

  I am in the US but Graham Norton hands down. Thanks BBC America. He treats his guests with respect and not worship. Having them on the couch at the same time is the best. Steve Allen was my favorite American host.

  I understand your frustration and I am not surprised at your eating disorder. It is due to the stresses of not having any approval from the family or the congregation. Thank goodness you are not baptized, DON'T EVER DO IT. That is the safest course for you. Aren't there any fellow rebels in the congregation you can associate with? Though it seems slow, time will pass faster than you think. Apparently you have internet access so stick with it. You may meet folks on there. There are some here you may find have just the right words for you in your time of need. All the best.

  I can understand your husbands feelings. Time will help build his confidence in your determination not to get "sucked back in". You will have issues with your parents trying to slip JW crap into the life of your baby so that's a choice you will have to live with. Face it, its only natural to want to share your joy at having a child with your mother. So, lay down the law with her and take the higher ground by not flipping out at her irrational dogma rants. You can do this. Its not up to any God for you to be happy, its the choices you make. Good luck indeed!

  i am not a regular visitor to this site, every now and then then i get twisted up about something i come back lol.

  i am sure this has been discussed many times so a link to another thread would be great or if someone has the patience to explain again please?

  i have read the july 15 2013 wt many times but i simply don't understand the significance of 1919 from the bible.

  in 1917 a band of rebels took over the Watchtower B&TS. Its president had died and infighting erupted after a surreptitious corporate grab by Rutherford. To support his larceny he concocted a pseudo-Biblical support for his actions by connecting a wacky interpretation from Revelation to himself and his unwitting conspirators. They were the chosen ones by virtue of release from prison (miraculously of course) signaling divine intervention, wha-la! deal sealed. Now every Witness must accept this litmus test of loyalty TO THIS DAY that Rutherford was Russell's successor even though no one knows who either of them are. Somehow Jesus was seriously demoted in this gambit.
